Staff Accountant- Government Fund Accounting

The ideal candidate will have experience with government or municipality fund accounting, strong Excel skills and at least 3 years of accounting experience.

Qualifications​:

  • Accounting bachelor’s degree desired but not required
  • 3 years’ experience in accounting
  • Experience with a school district or municipal water district
  • Experience with an auditing or outsourcing firm
  • Experience in: cash receipts/disbursements, accounts receivable/accounts payable, cash reconciliation, property accounting
  • Experience on either Quickbooks Enterprise, Sage, Banyon or other similar accounting software set up for government accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

 

Senior Audit Staff

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience auditing with a public accounting firm.

Job Description:

  • Participate in multiple industry client engagements from planning stages to issuing a report
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients
  • Perform analytical review of audit documents
  • Review client accounting procedures and systems of internal control
  • Identify accounting and auditing issues; perform research to solve issues that arise
  • Develop a working knowledge of firm audit procedures and methods
  • Prepare financial statements, related disclosures, and documentation supporting audit opinions
  • Provide recommendations for improving client controls and enhanced business efficiency
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff

Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • Desire to complete CPA exam
  • Relevant work experience (3-4 years’ experience of auditing with a public accounting firm)
  • Strong time management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

 

Tax Manager
 

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Managerial & Supervisory Experience -- Mentoring various staff and senior accountants, the Tax Manager being responsible for first level review and coordination of related tax filings for high net worth families and their related entities.
  • Tax Return Preparation & Review – The tax manager will assist in preparing complex tax returns & review individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns for Director approval (Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, and 1120S tax returns.)  Estate and Form 706 experience – a plus.
  • Tax Strategy & Planning –Assisting with tax consulting engagements utilizing tax strategies and coordinating multiple related entities.  Tax research skills using BNA Portfolios – a plus.
  • Business Development – Assist with business development for new business opportunities and additional client service expansion.
  • Must work collaboratively with other managers and senior managers in leadership role with seniors and staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA License required
  • Tax background
  • 6 – 8 years public accounting experience
  • Strong management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and analytical thinking

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
