Audit Staff

Job Description:

  • Participate in multiple industry client engagements from planning stages to issuing a report
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients
  • Perform analytical review of audit documents
  • Review client accounting procedures and systems of internal control
  • Identify accounting and auditing issues; perform research to solve issues that arise
  • Develop a working knowledge of firm audit procedures and methods
  • Prepare financial statements, related disclosures, and documentation supporting audit opinions
  • Provide recommendations for improving client controls and enhanced business efficiency
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • 150 college credit hours; CPA eligible
  • Desire to complete the CPA exam
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
  • Strong time management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels

Senior Accountant-Government Fund Accounting

The ideal candidate will have experience with government or municipality fund accounting, strong Excel skills and at least 3 years of accounting experience. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the accounting team working for the West Harris County Regional Water Authority (WHCRWA- www.whcrwa.com).

Qualifications:

  • Accounting bachelor’s degree
  • 3 or more years’ experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Experience with a school district or regional water authority or municipal water district
  • Experience with an auditing or outsourcing firm
  • Experience in: cash receipts/disbursements, accounts receivable/accounts payable, cash reconciliation, property accounting, Texas Water Development Board bond compliance and accounting
  • Experience on either Sage, Quickbooks Enterprise, Banyon or other similar accounting software set up for government accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Tax Staff

Job Description:

  • Participate in multiple industry client engagements from tax planning stages to issuing a return
  • Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances using various software programs
  • Develop a working knowledge of firm procedures and methods
  • Perform computation of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense
  • Prepare various income tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments


Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • 150 college credit hours; CPA eligible
  • Desire to complete the CPA exam
